Privacy notice
Last updated: September 2026
We treat your data with the same care as the software we build: collect only what is needed, protect it and use it for its intended purpose. This page explains what happens when you visit this site or write to us.
1. Controller
Ocean Forest IT, Ewald Kerner, Am Wiesengrund 3, 24229 Dänischenhagen, Germany. Email: info@ocean-forest.de
2. Visiting this website
When you open this site, your browser transmits technical data needed to deliver it: IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer, browser type and operating system. This is processed under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, stable delivery of our website), stored in server logs for a maximum of 14 days and not merged with other data sources.
3. Contact form and email
When you submit the contact form, we send your name (if provided), your email address and your message from our server as an email to our mailbox. Delivery goes through our email provider Strato SE & Co. KG, Otto-Ostrowski-Strasse 15, 10249 Berlin, under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The website does not store your details persistently; your IP address is processed briefly in memory to prevent abuse of the form (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Processing your message is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) and on Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. We keep correspondence for as long as the business relationship and statutory retention periods require.
4. Language, cookies and tracking
When you enter through the homepage, we use the preferred language sent by your browser. If you explicitly switch languages, the of_language cookie remembers your choice for up to one year. It contains only de or en. You can remove it in your browser. This website uses no marketing cookies, no fingerprinting and no advertising networks. The only audience measurement is the self-hosted, cookie-free setup described in section 5. Data is not sold, rented or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Audience measurement
This website uses Umami, a self-hosted audience measurement tool. Umami runs on the same server that delivers this site (bunc.ocean-forest.de). No data is passed to third parties and no additional processor is involved. Umami sets no cookies and builds no cross-device profiles. It records the page requested, the referrer, the country of origin, and the browser, operating system and device type. Your IP address is not stored; it is used only to derive the country and a daily-rotating identifier that cannot be reversed. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a data-minimising analysis of site usage (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). You can prevent measurement by blocking scripts from bunc.ocean-forest.de in your browser.
6. Hosting
Our hosting provider processes the data described in section 2 on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Servers are located within the EU.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, email info@ocean-forest.de.
8. Changes
Changes to this privacy notice will appear on this page with an updated date.
